What is this contest for?
My Name Is… is a naming contest that has been designed to have residents of the Region of Waterloo help create names for 1) the Schneiders redevelopment and 2) a street within this new community.
Who can participate?
This contest is open to individuals, companies, educational institutions, organizations, etc. and to groups associated with such institutions. Entrants must be legal residents of the Region of Waterloo, who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry and who hold a valid government issued ID.
Is there a fee to enter?
No, there is no fee to register or participate in My Name Is…
How many entries can I submit?
You may submit up to 3 per person, unless otherwise stated.
How do I submit my entry?
All entries should be submitted online. The submission form will open at 12:00:00 a.m. EST April 29, 2019. Read more about what is required and how to enter to get started!
When is the submission deadline?
Who is on the judging panel?
We’ve invited a select panel of leaders within the Region of Waterloo community to select the winning names. Check back for updates!
What constitutes as an entry?
You may enter the contest under the same email address a total of three times. This involves filling out the submission form in its entirety. Only have a name idea for the development? No problem! It will still count as one entry.
What if more than one participant submits the winning name?
If the same name is submitted multiple times, the person who submitted their entry first will be the chosen winner.
